It's all been leading up to this! This is the last episode of our first batch of series 2 shows. We're still editing the last batch. Hopefully we'll start posting them in September. I'm the editor, and I don't always have time to edit what with work and life and stuff.
I might cut an outtake version of this video. I was laughing so hard during Mimi's lines - the ones that didn't make the cut.

Where have I been? What have I been up to?
Well, for one thing, my workload, while still not back to pre-covid levels, is back up to pretty busy. I worry that the ongoing writer's strike could have an impact on this, which isn't great since I had to get a new roof on my house in the spring. I'm happy to have a new roof, but I have no financial cushion left for the year and will be going back into savings to pay my bills. But at least I have a house, and a non-leaking roof, and somewhat steady work, and friends, and cats, and savings to dip into.
My car was hit by a traffic cone on the 210 highway almost 2 weeks ago. Thankfully, my insurance is covering the cost of the $2000 repair.
But what else have I been doing? I've been working on the second series of episodes of the Lola LaRue Variety Show! We have shot 8 episodes and will release the first four over the next four weeks, then take a week or two (or more) off and then release the last four episodes, once a week. We're writing some specials to round out the year and since we are our own finance company and labor force, we'll get started writing the next batch of shows in the fall!
I hope you enjoy watching the new episodes, even just a fraction of how much we enjoy making them.
Now I just need to find time to write the screenplay I'm working on, to write the short film I want to shoot and all the songs associated with it, read my friend's musical, finish the painting I started a few months ago, exercise regularly, finish recording the song I wrote 10 years ago, record the song I wrote 2 years ago, figure out how to get some vacation time in, and clean my house. No problem.
